Underwood, IA
The barn pictured above was already on the farm in Underwood, IA when the Nielsen family, Danish immigrants searching for a place to live and farm, purchased it in 1909. The land has been in the family ever since. The barn, estimated to have been built in the 1880s, was primarily used to store hay, but over the course of a century many cows, horses, and even goats called it home.
